TRAINERS AVALABLE

English instruction is available -- dressage and eventing. While Touchstone Acres specializes in dressage, all disciplines are welcome. Outside trainers allowed with insurance and prior approval.  Approved trainers/instructors include:

  • JEAN PAUL PARE - Jean Paul Pare' conducts dressage clinics in the Mid-Atlkantic states and throughout Ontario and Quebec. He has taught at the Columbia Horse Center and Averett University in Danville, VA. He also has taught several clinics in England. Jean Paul has studied with Master Nuno Oliveira; Mr. M. Cochenet (a three day event national trainer) in France; Ecole National D' Equitation Du Cadre Noir in Saumur, France; and Reitinstitut Egon Von Neindorff & Haidehof.
  • CHELSEA SPIEGEL - dressage, former student of Jean Paul at Averatt U. and the SYDNORs
  • LORREE PROBERT - eventing, dressage and general.

SHOWING

We are located 45 minutes from Morven Park Equestrian Center and Menfelt; 2  hours from PGEC. Numerous schooling shows are offered by VADA/NOVA, PVDA, CDCTA and private farms in close proximity.

BOARDING

Pasture and stall self-care stall board at Touchstone Acres is available year round. There are a variety of stall sizes available in our renovated, 14-stall facility. We provide high quality care, with an abundance of good hay, some home grown; shavings or sawdust as available, and several choices of feed. We highly recommend 24x7 turnout on our lush pasture as the most natural and healthy way to keep your horse. The opportunity for constant movement helps prevent colic, gives horses plenty of exercise, and minimizes boredom. 

We recommend pasture board for weanlings to riding age especially.

SADDLES -- We sell Duett saddles -- leather dressage, all-purpose, jumping and trail models.  These moderately priced saddles are a great value
